We clash you and me.
\nFirst I thought because you are so different, you see.
\nBut then after all the dust cleared
\nAnd the shrapnel was swept up into neat little tins
\nAnd all our respective allies’ bodies were policed up by loved ones\u00e2\u20ac\u201d
\nDogs and crows and old men with metal detectors and headphones
\nClosing the circle in little by little hoping to find a scrap or two,
\nAnd the grandmothers all weep over tea, saying<\/p>\n

I Told You So: See? Nothing Was Accomplished Again;
\nWho’s Gonna Feed The Kids.<\/p>\n

For the 432nd time,
\nIt was then I realized:
\nThe reason you and me,
\nWe used up every bullet we had
\nNot because we’re so different, you see.<\/p>\n

Because we’re mirror images, aren’t we?
\nLike Isaac and Ishmael maybe,
\nBut who needs analogies when we’ve each got th’other?
\nWe do kinda look alike, huh?
\nBesides all the acting, and talking
\nAnd walking like each other.<\/p>\n

But enemy, my friend.
\nCan I ask you one question?
\nWhat kind of Creator lets us miss each other that many times?<\/p>\n
