I come to offer a message to those who would here.<\/p>\n<p>Our Teachers tell us that a great time of change is upon us, \u00c2\u00a0and<\/p>\n<p>that \u00c2\u00a0we \u00c2\u00a0must move forward with true compassion \u00c2\u00a0to \u00c2\u00a0meet \u00c2\u00a0these<\/p>\n<p>challenges.<\/p>\n<p>It was the Most Venerable Fujii Guruji&#8217;s belief that the American<\/p>\n<p>Indians \u00c2\u00a0who \u00c2\u00a0have \u00c2\u00a0preserved a spiritual \u00c2\u00a0way \u00c2\u00a0of \u00c2\u00a0life \u00c2\u00a0against<\/p>\n<p>humiliation \u00c2\u00a0and oppression have a mission. He believed that \u00c2\u00a0our<\/p>\n<p>mission is to liberate humanity from the danger of \u00c2\u00a0annihilation,<\/p>\n<p>to \u00c2\u00a0correct the wrong doings of the United States, to show a \u00c2\u00a0way<\/p>\n<p>to \u00c2\u00a0break through its deadlock and to see that the cruel \u00c2\u00a0history<\/p>\n<p>will never be repeated. Fujii Guruji had high expectations of the<\/p>\n<p>Bodhisarttya practice of the American Indian people.<\/p>\n<p>It is in this spirit that I began to organize a &#8221; Spiritual Walk&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>to \u00c2\u00a0begin \u00c2\u00a0in \u00c2\u00a0San \u00c2\u00a0Francisco, Jan 1, \u00c2\u00a01992, \u00c2\u00a0and \u00c2\u00a0to \u00c2\u00a0arrive \u00c2\u00a0in<\/p>\n<p>Washington \u00c2\u00a0D.C. on October 12, 1992, the &#8220;International \u00c2\u00a0Day \u00c2\u00a0of<\/p>\n<p>Solidarity with the Indian People of the Western Hemisphere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I \u00c2\u00a0had hoped to organize an Indian walk&#8230; like the Longest \u00c2\u00a0Walk<\/p>\n<p>of 1978. I spoke to many native people and groups. Of course they<\/p>\n<p>said \u00c2\u00a0it \u00c2\u00a0was \u00c2\u00a0a good idea but many of \u00c2\u00a0these \u00c2\u00a0organizations \u00c2\u00a0are<\/p>\n<p>currently \u00c2\u00a0focusing on their community. There are so many \u00c2\u00a0things<\/p>\n<p>to be done and everybody is doing their best.<\/p>\n<p>We must move forward in this. This &#8220;Spiritual Walk&#8221; will \u00c2\u00a0include<\/p>\n<p>all \u00c2\u00a0People \u00c2\u00a0of \u00c2\u00a0the Four Colors. WE WILL \u00c2\u00a0WALK \u00c2\u00a0AS \u00c2\u00a0A \u00c2\u00a0SPIRITUAL<\/p>\n<p>OFFERING TO CORRECT THE EFFECTS OF COLONIZATION AND GENOCIDE UPON<\/p>\n<p>AMERICAN INDIAN NATIONS.<\/p>\n<p>We will do our best to speak out, to educate the American public.<\/p>\n<p>1992 \u00c2\u00a0is a time for All People To Walk On This \u00c2\u00a0Beautiful \u00c2\u00a0Mother<\/p>\n<p>Earth&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0 to \u00c2\u00a0correct \u00c2\u00a0the \u00c2\u00a0injustices \u00c2\u00a0done \u00c2\u00a0by \u00c2\u00a0the \u00c2\u00a0 American<\/p>\n<p>Government not only to the Indian Nations but also to the world.<\/p>\n<p>We \u00c2\u00a0are a small group of people who have committed \u00c2\u00a0ourselves \u00c2\u00a0to<\/p>\n<p>walk 5400 miles across the United States. We go through 17 Indian<\/p>\n<p>Nations to gather prayers, spiritual strength and unity.<\/p>\n<p>We \u00c2\u00a0will \u00c2\u00a0be \u00c2\u00a0passing through California, \u00c2\u00a0Nevada, \u00c2\u00a0Arizona, \u00c2\u00a0New<\/p>\n<p>Mexico, \u00c2\u00a0Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota, \u00c2\u00a0Minnesota,<\/p>\n<p>Illinois, \u00c2\u00a0Indiana, \u00c2\u00a0Ohio, Pennsylvania, New \u00c2\u00a0York, \u00c2\u00a0New \u00c2\u00a0Jersey,<\/p>\n<p>Delaware, and Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>We could use any support along the way including, \u00c2\u00a0accommodations<\/p>\n<p>and \u00c2\u00a0food, organizing visits to schools, churches \u00c2\u00a0and \u00c2\u00a0community<\/p>\n<p>groups, \u00c2\u00a0media outreach, organizing gatherings or prayer \u00c2\u00a0vigils,<\/p>\n<p>or joining us in our walk for what ever time is possible.<\/p>\n<p>For more information and a detailed itinerary please contact:<\/p>\n<p>Nipponzan Myohoji, 82 Flora St. S.F.
