I’m writing a song called Megan Moroney

It goes like this.

You’all made her cowrite the songs she wrote
She got some extra hits anyhow

Plus she made you look stupider than you did her.

You can’t hold down a real writer can ya?

Unfortunately it’s the umpteenth
“Look what they done to my song ma…”

But she’ll win out
because this really is the century one person will write a song
instead of 5 cowriters, 4 ghost writers, 3 composers, 2 recomposers
and a Partridge in a school bus.
